They funny part about this is that it's not a bad idea. Their reasoning is psychotic, but marriage is a religious institution. Government shouldn't have anything to do with it. So instead of legality of benefits being tied to marriage, it could be tied to households.

Because really, what's so crazy about two siblings living together? And why should they get a worse shake of things than a married couple?

If the goal is to promote procreation somehow, fine, but otherwise, I've never really got along with the idea of marriage being intertwined with government.
