The Durak Report July 20, Anno Domini 2026
1. Recent News
1.1. Israel spent over $45 million on AI propaganda campaign targeting US – WSJ
I haven't seen this, but this is an obvious failing considering the public's perception of Israel.
1.2. Iran thanks Jordanians for help targeting US forces
Huh. See below.
1.3. Taylor Farms lettuce sample that tested positive for cyclospora was a false positive, FDA says
Great. We don't know where it came from again…
1.4. Student loan defaults hit record highs in wake of COVID-tied payments pause expiration
Alright, see below.
1.5. New British premier Andy Burnham vows to end years of instability
Doubtful. Labor's track record is pretty poor on this.
1.6. Yemen's Houthis say they will impose naval blockade against Saudi Arabia
This seems like a very bad idea.
1.7. Hamas names Khalil Al-Hayya as new leader, statement says
Wait, they haven't had a leader for two years?
2. Extra words for which nobody asked
2.1. Iran thanks Jordanians for help targeting US forces
If this is true… But it doesn't seem to be.
It seems very unlikely the Jordan state was involved, it is, of course, possible, that individuals may be involved.
Iran claims it is true, but the US and Jordan haven't really responded. Sounds like Iran is trying to provoke infighting. But remember, we know nothing, it may simply be true.
2.2. Student loan defaults hit record highs in wake of COVID-tied payments pause expiration
This tells me two things. Students that use federal loans are too incompetent to pay back their loans, and that students who use federal loans can't make enough money to pay back the loan so… Stay out of school folks, unless you know what you are doing.
