2.1. Iran to announce new Strait of Hormuz route as gas prices hit record high on Labor Day
I keep hearing this. "Gas prices hit record high on Labor Day!"
Yet, all the more expensive towns near me are down. It's all bogus. All of it.
Hey perplexity? So what's up with this? Why this disconnect?
perplexity: "It's a Labor Day weekend record, not an all-time," record.
Oh, okay, it is bogus then.

This needs to happen more often. It's terrible, and it should never happen, but this problem needs to hit the leadership before change has a chance.
2.3. UN approves true-size Africa map with sole dissent
As I understand it, the main complaint is that it was a politically motivated change rather than a needed one and that the UN focus should be elsewhere.
However, the interesting thing is that if this becomes the default map, it makes Africa look huge, like it should. It's nearly the size of all of Eurasia! I also noticed that Australia looks far larger too.
So, why is this interesting? If people realize that Africa is absolutely massive, they may be less willing to accept migration.
Telling me something the size of Europe and Asia can't handle catering their people? Well then maybe we can't either. Stay home.
