I find this half believable.

When working for any news organization, you are at least partially locked to what they want, which makes sense. They are the boss after all.

So yea, probably do have much more freedom to report on certain stories, but at the same time, less freedom to report on others.

As I understand it, freedom of speech is pretty strong so long as it doesn't cross certain lines.

One of the most important purposes of freedom of speech is to freely speak out against the government. In Russia, you can't do this. At least, there are lines that you cannot cross without getting into some sort of trouble.

However, outside of that, people seem pretty free to report on things.

This is what makes outlets such as RT so valuable for the west to see. We get to see things from the perspective of others.

However, this also makes it an ideal target for propaganda. So… you gotta take everything into consideration.

Anything anti-west, may or may not be framed in a way to subvert the truth, but, so long as it is not an opinion piece, it's super easy to see the truth between the lines.

However, there is still the selection bias of which stories are shared and which are not.

In any case, I find state media in particular to be very useful in seeing the perspective of the state that controls it.

But I digress…

Sanchez probably does feel more freedom if he saw stories he wanted to cover but was restricted due to policies of his bosses at NBC/CNN/wherever else, but he's just talkin' confetti if he believes he has total freedom at RT.

I'm not sure anything but biology can explain something this insane.

An elderly couple (Asian) are shopping. A black employee nearly runs over the woman. The man says, (paraphrased) "Yo, you're you almost hit my wife and you're not even going to say "excuse me?"

The black kid chucks a can at the couple, who is "no longer a Walmart employee" and was brought up on charges.

The black kid then calls her parents who, for some reason, were right there and ready to go.

They jump the 77 year old man and beat him nearly to death, resulting in his death the next day in the hospital.

And any Gun Smoke fans out there will know that this means that the two that beat him are guilty of murder.

So, in spite of being the most accessible president in my lifetime, in spite of having more public appearances than any president of my lifetime, Reuters cries foul when POTUS decides to limit who can attend private press events.

They go on about first amendment rights, but what first amendment right do I have to follow the president around and ask questions? If I, like, literally me, went around trying to follow POTUS and ask questions, I wouldn't be allowed in the very events which Reuters is complaining about.

If it's something not allowed to everyone, then it isn't allowed to everyone. If I'm not allowed to go, if any other random citizen isn't allowed to go, what gives CNN special access?
